The first light of the new year has just come over the horizon as AMTK 62 leads the westbound Empire Builder across the sub-zero North Dakota prairie east of Granville.
The westbound Empire Builder rolls past the lush fields on the western end of the Devils Lake Subdivision on its way to an extended servicing stop about 18 miles away in Minot.
A rerouted M-MINNTW moves past the former Great Northern depot in Granville. Today, the building serves as a section house for BNSF Maintenance of Way.
